An app can be compared to a service. An app is a service located on your IPhone that provides you whatever you need. For example, if you are looking for which bus you need to take to go somewhere, you just need to download tfl uk (London’s train and bus services) on your IPhone and you can search for all the information you need regarding buses and trains.
Who creates Apps ?
Anyone who wants to! As soon as you think that you have a good idea for an app, something that could help people, make them laugh, teach them something or solve a problem, it can be a good idea!
Here are the tools you need (from http://coding.smashingmagazine.com/2009/08/11/how-to-create-your-first-iphone-application/)
▪ get iPhone or iPod Touch
▪ get an Intel-based Mac computer with Mac OS X 10.5.5
▪ prepare a Non-Disclosure Agreement
▪ a spiral bound notebook
Then there are a lot of steps to follow, design, programs etc… And finally submit your app to Apple Store. Try to promote your apps after that…
The average price of an app is 1.49 Dollars. According to Munster, Apple earns only 13% of the amount.
